OUR MISSION
Some say you are the result of your environment and the sum of your experiences. We believe chance and opportunity are equal players in this collective equation.
Meaning no circumstance should be beyond one’s ability to cope and persevere.
Our mission is based on a connection to the African continent that’s meaningful and impactful to family, friends, and future customers. In this way, we honor our ancestors.
Merin Kind educates people on the benefits of using natural products and, at the same time, enrich and empower the lives of the people we are sourcing our products from, promoting beyond fair trade.
WHAT WE STAND FOR

Africa is our homeland, and it is our responsibility to not just take from Africa; we are here to take care of Africa and protect Africa as you take care of your household. Integrity, empowerment of African people, economic responsibility, and environmental sustainability are the other values that encompass our brand.
CONNECTION
Merin Kind’s connection to Africa is meaningful; it is a connection of legacy. It is who we are. We are responsible for sharing value-added health, wellness, and beauty products that Africa has to offer.

SOCIAL MISSION - POLICE BRUTALITY AWARENESS
Merin Kind is committed to bringing awareness to police brutality and the effects on the families whose loved ones are lost to such violence. Our family has been directly affected by this. One of the reasons we started Merin Kind was to use its platform to shed light on a misunderstood topic by so many.
A son, baby brother, and an uncle since the age of 3--Khalil Lawal was a native, born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. From an early age, he developed a passion for making music. Throughout his teenage years, he was a very talented drum player. As he grew older, he developed a passion for producing music as a whole. He was loving, protective, smart, funny, and a sincerely deep love for music to family and friends that knew him.
Khalil Lawal was shot 15 times by off-duty Philadelphia Police Detective James Powell after a vehicular accident involving a pedestrian in Philadelphia, PA. Powell did not witness the incident but arrived on the scene as cars and pedestrians began to amass. Powell approached Khalil from behind and immediately reaches for his weapon. The two began entangled, and seconds after the encounter, Powell begins shooting Khalil. Khalil Lawal was unarmed, the all too often scenario, and succumbed to his injuries about 2 hours after the incident. Cause of death multiple gunshot wounds.
To this day, no charges have been filed.
